This was purchased as a gift for my 10 year old as he is trying to find a new hobby. This kit had great instructions provided as well as all of the materials and items you would need. I would recommend this as an activity that everyone in the family could do (age appropriate obviously).

    This is definitely a beginner set, my son was excited to use this but the heat is indeed to younger kids which results it going really slow or holding there longer so he lost interest in the set and doesnt care for it. I purchased the same set for a friend, a crafty little gal and she loves it. It really depends on the child honestly. I love the variety of tools it came with, all together its a great gift to purchase.
